Mark Immelman brings the game of golf to life from a perspective few broadcasters can claim. His experience as a player, instructor, and lifelong student of golf informs his work as an on-course TV announcer for CBS Sports and analyst for CBS Sports HQ and PGA TOUR Live. Through television, YouTube, podcasts, and social media, Mark connects audiences to the game with insight, context, and an unmistakable passion for golf.

Golf Broadcasting: The Beginning

Mark got his start in golf broadcasting as a guest announcer on Supersport TV in South Africa for various co-sanctioned Sunshine Tour events including the South African Open and the Alfred Dunhill Championship. In those early days, he was also afforded the opportunity to be a part of the European Tour Productions broadcast crew for The Joburg Open on The European Tour.

His career in broadcasting on The PGA TOUR began when he was included on the SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio crew for the 2012 Greenbrier Classic. Mark parlayed that outing into a 6-year tenure as one of PGA TOUR Radio’s leading play-by-play voices. He has since transitioned to TV Broadcasting and has been a permanent fixture on CBS Sports and PGA Tour Live for over 10 years.

On The Mark Podcast

In 2015, Mark’s radio experience led to him hosting his own weekly, live-streaming radio show called “On the Mark” on pgatour.com. After one season, the PGA TOUR-driven radio initiative morphed into a standalone podcast called “On the Mark.” The first podcast was released in February 2016, and as of August 2026, it has been downloaded over 8.8 million times in over 150 countries. On The Mark brings listeners best-in-class golf instruction plus insightful conversations with PGA TOUR players, coaches, caddies, sports psychologists, fitness trainers, and more.

In-studio Analysts and On-Course Announcer

Mark’s broadcast career with the PGA TOUR began as part of the “Live @” team on PGA TOUR.com. As the PGA TOUR’s digital media platform evolved into PGA TOUR LIVE, Mark became one of the network’s early studio analysts and on-course announcers and remains a key member of the PGA TOUR LIVE broadcast team today. He has also appeared on DirecTV’s featured groups coverage and LaunchPad Channel as an announcer and analyst. Combining firsthand playing experience with insightful analysis, storytelling, and a natural on-camera presence, Mark has become a trusted and recognizable voice in PGA TOUR coverage.

CBS Sports

Mark’s work with PGA TOUR LIVE opened the door to CBS Sports, where he joined the network’s pioneering 4K coverage of the 2016 PGA Championship at Baltusrol. His role quickly expanded to include the Masters, where he provided analysis for Masters On the Range, Featured Groups, and Amen Corner. His growing presence and versatility led to his joining the CBS Sports Network announcer team full-time in 2018.

Today, Mark is an on-course announcer for CBS Sports and a golf analyst for CBS Sports HQ and PGA TOUR LIVE, bringing firsthand knowledge of the game to some of the sport’s biggest stages.

Across his television and radio career, Mark has covered two of professional golf’s four major championships—the Masters and PGA Championship—as well as multiple World Golf Championships and Presidents Cups. He also served as an analyst on CBS Sports’ digital podcast The First Cut, which concluded in spring 2025.
